Sundays
Everyone is welcome at Grace Church, whether you are wondering if
God is real, you are searching, interested or sure of your Christian faith.
Sunday Mornings
We meet at 10:30am at the Harlescott Grange Community Hub in Shrewsbury, SY1 3JR. We have plenty of parking and disabled access. The service starts with refreshments, including pastries and biscuits or you may even find a sausage roll! A variety of hot and cold drinks are also on offer – everything is free!
When we move into a time of worship; we have prayers and contributions from different people within the church. We are open to what God might be saying each week. Then there’s a short, engaging talk. We are passionate that our teenagers and every person that comes along can engage with the talks, some are based on important and relevant themes, and some systematically teach through a book of the bible.
Children are important to us at Grace, and 3-11s have groups provided, where fun activities will (hopefully!) teach the children a bit about what the grown-ups are learning in the service. At the end, we love hearing about what the children have been doing from the children themselves. Altogether, this creates an informal, relaxed service, which finishes around 12 noon.
Whilst we don’t put a strong emphasis on numbers, it may be helpful for you to know roughly how many to expect on a Sunday. We are a growing church and currently our church community is over 150 people, we would regularly have over 100 people worshipping together on a Sunday morning.
We can’t express enough how everyone is welcome.
Come and say hello!
Sunday Evenings
Various things happen on a Sunday Evening, but our regulars include monthly:
1) Going Deeper – Prayer and Worship Evening
Time and space set aside to slow down and be before God, enjoying His presence and calling on Him. There is no agenda to the meeting and we share openly as we worship. These are often very exciting evenings as we gather as a family to be with our Father. These meetings finish around 9.30pm
2) Going Deeper – Prayer
We spend around an hour every other week where we thank God, praying for personal, local, national and international situations. We love this special time to gather and call on God.
3) in the new year 2024 we will launch Going Deeper – Exploring the Bible once a month looking at all aspects of the Christian faith in a deeper way – Bible study and teaching.
Youth and young adults are an important part of Grace Church and we have a varied programme which can be found on the What’s On page.
Look out for the ‘Youth Focus’ Sundays where we spend time together after the service, along with time before our Going Deeper Prayer and Worship Evenings.
There are so many things I love about ‘Going Deeper’ Sunday nights. We get to spend extended time worshipping and hearing from God, or praying together. It’s also a great opportunity to really connect with others. There’s no better place to become ‘family’ than in the presence of God! – Sarah
